New York :: Day 1 - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

New York :: Day 1

by - Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Hey, Hey!

I told you yesterday that this weekend I went on a girls trip to New York.  Today I'm sharing our first day with you :).
We flew to Newark, NJ early Thursday morning.  Once we landed we got a taxi & headed to Manhattan, New York.  It was about an hour drive.  We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square ... yep, in the middle of everything!  The hotel & staff were super nice.

My cousin, Jill, had a class to go to for a few hours when we got there.
While she was in her class the rest of us took on New York.
The view right outside our hotel.
Just beautiful!
We grabbed brunch first ... & if there is a mirror, a selfie is sure to follow :).
After brunch we bought tickets for a 3 day tour on a double decker bus.
I don't know if I'll do that again but to have never been before it was perfect because we literally saw tons just because of that little tour bus.
Waiting on the ferry to go see ...
...this.
To see the Statue of Liberty in person was amazing.
It is HUGE!

Later in the afternoon we headed back to the hotel to rest, freshen up & wait on my cousin to get finished with her class.
By this time it was 6pm & we hopped on our tour bus to go grab dinner ... or so we thought.  We actually ended up getting on the bus that was doing the Night Tour.  The tour lasted until 8:30pm & there were no stops.
... Then it started raining. HA!

On the plus side, the city is beautiful at night!
We were starving by the time the tour was over.
We went to a pizza place right by the hotel called Ray's Pizza.
It was SO good!

After dinner we crashed so we could spend the entire day out in the city the next day.

That was day one.
Come back tomorrow for What's Up Wednesday & then on Thursday I will share New York :: Days 2 & 3 with you :).
